Insurance

Insurance - Full Members

Insurance cover is not included in the Membership fees. When applying for Full Membership and you require Professional Indemnity Insurance cover known as Combined Liability & Legal Expense Insurance, please indicate on the Application Form. The Insurance Application Form will be forwarded with your Membership package.

The insurance has been made available for Full Members of EHA at a discounted premium. For current premium rates please contact OAMPS Insurance on 1800 222 012.

If you intend to hold any courses, workshops or seminars please speak to the Insurers. Under the Policy if the name of the insured includes that of a school or college then the teaching activities will automatically be covered. Cover is automatically provided for individual practitioners who teach for less than 25% of their normal working hours. Otherwise, please inform the Insurers as you may not be covered and they will advise if an additional premium will be required.

The Cover (briefly):
“The insurer will pay your liability for damages and legal expenses arising from personal injury or damage to property arising from your business or occupation as listed on your proposal. For any further information, please refer to your Policy Summary included with the insurance application form.

This insurance is extended to include:

  • Liabilities arising from breaches of your professional duties including diagnosis, prescribing, dispensing and treatment.
  • Liabilities arising from goods sold or supplied.
  • Liabilities arising from actions of your employees while carrying out their duties.
  • Unintentional libel or slander being a breach of professional duty.
  • Your liabilities as a tenant.
  • Liabilities arising out of you losing someone else’s documents.
  • Cover extends for your professional activities worldwide, other than North America or where local legislation dictates you must have a local policy.

Please note: If Full Members require cover for any other Diplomas, Certificate Courses or disciplines (referred to as ‘activities’ in the Insurance document) that are not listed as an EHA Accredited Course; you will need to advise the Insurers when applying for cover. If the activity and qualification is acceptable to the Insurers, cover may be available at an additional cost.

For Graduates who have completed an Accredited EHA course and wish to join the Association as Full Members but do not intend to practice, please be aware that you are not required to obtain Insurance cover.

Insurance - Student and Companion Members

Under EHA’s Code of Practice, Student Members are not allowed to practice the Accredited EHA Course until they have completed their course and become a Full Member of the EHA.

Student Members may approach OAMPS for insurance cover for other diplomas/disciplines not accredited by EHA but the premium may not necessarily be at a reduced rate.

Companion Members may approach OAMPS for insurance to cover your business/practice but not under the EHA’s policy.

If you are an Energetic Healer of advanced standing but do not hold an EHA Accredited Diploma or Certificate and you would like to become an EHA Member, please for further details.
